Forgetting what the world has told me...

To counter the bold rainbow-theme of our previous treasury, we chose to work with earthy shades in our newest collection. Olive green, cocoa brown, and dusty aqua repeatedly popped up together as we browsed the CAST team's offerings. The fore-mentioned color scheme paired well with the resonating lyrics of "You Can Have Me" by Sidewalk Prophets. Now what will we find for our next treasury?

'You Can Have Me...' by HandiworkinGirls

If I saw You on the street
And You said come and follow me
But I had to give up everything
All I once held dear and all of my dreams

Would I love You enough to let go
Or would my love run dry
When You asked for my life

When did love become unmoving?
When did love become unconsuming?
Forgetting what the world has told me
Father of love, You can have me
You can have me

Love will find you where you are...

In the midst of our playlist tweaking (it happens every month or so), we keep finding treasury inspiration songs. On Saturday, it was a song from Sidewalk Prophets' album These Simple Truths, and, incidentally, the song from which the album's own title came: "The Words I Would Say." It also has the perfect lyrics to coincide with our some of our favorite CAST items; namely, word art. We have too many favorites to spotlight them all at once, so here are a choice few in black and white!

'The words I would say....' by HandiworkinGirls

Three in the morning, and I'm still awake So I picked up a pen and a page And I started writing just what I'd say If we were face to face I'd tell you just what you mean to me Tell you these simple truths:

Be strong in the Lord
And never give up hope
You’re gonna do great things
I already know
God’s got His hand on You
So don’t live life in fear
Forgive and forget
But don’t forget why you’re here
Take your time and pray
These are the words I would say

Last time we spoke you said you were hurting
And I felt your pain in my heart
I want to tell you that I keep on praying
That love will find you where you are

Farther than this world I know...

With only one more week until Valentine's Day, we wanted to play with a palette other than traditional red and white but still keep with the theme of love and hearts. So for today's treasury, we selected these bright blue and tan shades and added items that seemed to bring the lyrics of "Show Me How To Love" (by Sidewalk Prophets) to life.

'Show Me How To Love' by HandiworkinGirls

Passed by you today Why is there a war between us? Are you not my brother? Are you not my sister? Something's got to change Stood by you today Why is there a wall between us? Are you not my sister? Are you not my brother?

Well something's got to change I confess that I’ve been blind
Open up this heart of mine Show me how to love
Farther than this world I know Take me where You want me to go
Show me how to love

It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known...

Following Christmas and Epiphany, it's time to create some treasuries featuring the new music we received as gifts on the forementioned holidays. To begin with, we have one of Sidewalk Prophets' songs from 2010.

'You Love Me Anyway' by HandiworkinGirls

The question was raised As my conscience fell A silly, little lie It didn't mean much But it lingers still In the corners of my mind In the corners of my mind
Still you call me to walk On the edge of this world To spread my dreams and fly
But the future’s so far My heart is so frail I think I’d rather stay inside

But You love me anyway It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway Oh Lord, how You love me How You love me
