Spring pastels...

placemats artisan cottage chic shabby rustic spring upcycled t-shirts knitted by Handiworkin' Girls

A refreshing palette of spring shades lends a cottage-chic feel to our newest set of placemats. Knitted from upcycled t-shirts (similar in style to our rag rugs), our placemats are thick and durable, not mention machine washable. The pretty pastels, ranging from pale pink and lavender to celery green and aqua blue, add an elegant twist to our normally rustic-styled placemats. The large rectangular size makes the placemats highly versatile - they are large enough to cushion an entire placesetting, including a charger, or even a tea service, but small enough to be used as the base of a centerpiece on even the smallest of dining tables.

Love will find you where you are...

In the midst of our playlist tweaking (it happens every month or so), we keep finding treasury inspiration songs. On Saturday, it was a song from Sidewalk Prophets' album These Simple Truths, and, incidentally, the song from which the album's own title came: "The Words I Would Say." It also has the perfect lyrics to coincide with our some of our favorite CAST items; namely, word art. We have too many favorites to spotlight them all at once, so here are a choice few in black and white!

'The words I would say....' by HandiworkinGirls

Three in the morning, and I'm still awake So I picked up a pen and a page And I started writing just what I'd say If we were face to face I'd tell you just what you mean to me Tell you these simple truths:

Be strong in the Lord
And never give up hope
You’re gonna do great things
I already know
God’s got His hand on You
So don’t live life in fear
Forgive and forget
But don’t forget why you’re here
Take your time and pray
These are the words I would say

Last time we spoke you said you were hurting
And I felt your pain in my heart
I want to tell you that I keep on praying
That love will find you where you are

Don't let go ...

Sometimes our treasury inspirations come from the items we find whilst browsing our team members' shops, on other days it comes from the songs we are listening to as we work on our shop's inventory. Yesterday's treasury was inspired by both. A retro combination of red, aqua, and white seemed to fit well with Peter Furler's song "Hold On." The color scheme we have used before, but these items are all fresh picks from the CAST team.

'Hold On' by HandiworkinGirls

You never thought you would get to a place Where your life could go from carefree To suddenly aching, beautiful to breaking Now you crawl through the smoke and haze Fighting just to find some daylight to see the sun And then catch your breath again

There's a whisper in the chaos
And it's calling out your name

Just believe, I know you're gonna make it
Don't let go when the ground beneath you is shaking
Through the good times and the bad times
And the things you can't control, you gotta hold on

Your love is real...

The lyrics of Francesca Battistelli's "My Paper Heart" practically begged to be used for a Valentine's Day treasury, so we decided it was time to comply. And with so many dainty heart-themed items to choose from it, it wasn't an easy thing to narrow the choices down to these sixteen pieces. Still, the colors in the items below are what really inspired us to choose them - the pale pinks, creamy tans, and crisp reds are among the quintessential Valentine's colors, and with good reason. Lovely, romantic, and soft are among the words that come to mind when these shades appear, and those are the words of the holiday.

Please enjoy browsing these lovely shops!

'My Paper Heart' by HandiworkinGirls

Well I've been treated like a valentine That's been ripped apart and left behind I'm a fragile girl In a crazy careless world My dreams were torn and scattered on the floor But You've been picking up the pieces, Lord ‘Cause Your love is real The only hope to heal

My paper heart is Yours now
I have landed in Your hands
Come so far to find out
My life will never be the same
Since you wrote Your name
On my paper heart
