Fuchsia-lined ACU Gift Bags

The other ten of the twenty girl-colored ACU gift bags we sewed for the Army-themed birthday bash were lined with fuchsia pink flannel. It's a pretty shade - vibrant, feminine, and eye-catching - and paired well with the variety of pink and white buttons we had in our button jars. Our favorite feature, though, is the topstitching. Introducing the lining color to the bags' tabs and tops with our topstitching gives an extra dash of stylish pink to the otherwise earthy-colored camouflage, and allows the bags to retain their crisp shape even with repeated use. (It simplifies ironing them for photos, too!)

Perfectly purple...

Lilac-lined ACU Gift Bags

Time for a peek back into our custom-orders from this spring. We had the privilege of creating camouflage gift bags for a birthday party, and create we did. Today we would like to show you the first quarter of our work for this Army-themed birthday bash: the lilac purple-lined gift bags. Soft cotton flannel was our lining material of choice which, together with our favorite ACU twill, made for a pleasing combination of textures sturdy and snuggly. We mixed two styles of purple buttons - flowers and metallic-edged - along with dainty white flower buttons to add a girlish flair to the otherwise neutral camo exterior. The resulting bags were playful, pretty, and durable - exactly what is needed for a child's party favor.

Bronze and blue...

What's navy blue and coffee brown, and fastens with a button? Our latest upholstery gift bag! Bronze adds an unexpected metallic glimmer to the otherwise subtle neutral bag, and the geometric pattern keeps the color palette looking modern and fresh. We sewed our bag in our standard reusable size - large enough to hold a folded shirt or sweater, or a trio of fiction. (You can tell what we like to give as gifts!) The bag could also contain a can of coffee and bars of dark chocolate, to function as a birthday gift, or a pretty scented candle and a box of exotic tea, for your favorite hostess.

Pretty in polka-dots

Another Valentine's addition to our shop appears in the form of polka-dot gift bags. Combining the black and white dot print with a crimson red lining made for a fun afternoon's worth of work. The contrasting topstitching consumed a little more time, but the finished product is well worth it. Besides, the large red buttons practically cried for the additional detail. And who can resist showing off such fantastic buttons to their best advantage?

For photographic purposes, we filled the reusable gift bags with sets of books because we seem to have them at hand. However, the size is also perfectly suited to holding multiple dvds or cds, or larger items such as chocolates, coffee, or skeins of yarn.

Elegant in toile...

A deep red and cream make up the toile patterned fabric we used for our Valentine's addition to our reusable gift bag line. To highlight the soft tan texturing on the toile, we sewed the bags' tabs from an upcycled piece of corduroy.  We searched for a pair of vintage buttons to complement the rich colors of the bags, and settled on a pearly rose-pink and pearlescent tan for an added bit of romance. In keeping with the classic feel of the toile, we photographed them filled with our hands-down favorite gift item - triologies of historical fiction.

Camo and Pink...

Custom ACU Book Tote

This once humble gift bag has undergone a makeover and now functions as a mini book tote. "Mini" in that it has relatively short handles and holds three to four fiction sized books. Nevertheless, this little bag lacks nothing in the style department. Sturdy ACU twill makes up the bag's exterior, while a girly pink double-knit lines the inside. A small interior pocket provides a place to tuck keys or a cellphone, and a larger exterior pocket allows room for a small notebook and a pen or two to tag along. To keep up with the wear-and-tear of daily use, the handles are made from military-style nylon webbing. A custom name tape leaves no doubt as to whose books these are, and a rosy pink vintage button finishes the bag with an extra dash of style. (And of course, there's still room for a bar of dark chocolate, in case of emergencies.)

O Christmas Tree...

Celebrate Christmas with our newly listed denim gift bags . With a vintage Christmas tree print lining and scarlet red handles, the small gift totes are just right for carrying Christmas goodies to a friend, wrapping up toys for the little ones, or simply decorating the nooks and crannies in your home. A petite seven and a half inches tall, our reusable Christmas totes make for an adorable solution to your gift wrapping dilemmas.



 

Pretty in pink...

Today's new items:

Custom gift bags in ACU twill with a variety of pinks for the lining. Very girlish and fun! And a lovely way to wrap a special bridesmaid or birthday gift, for starters. The velcro tape provides a place to add the recipient's name for further personalizing the present.
